Why LiDAR?

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is ideal for drone mapping and limitless applications  when accurate and precise data and penetration matter. Unlike photogrammetry, LiDAR sensors actively emit laser pulses to capture millions of data points, allowing accurate 3D models of terrain — even under dense vegetation or low-light conditions. It excels in environments where visual imagery falls short, producing high-resolution point clouds and elevation models that are critical for surveying, engineering, utilities, and environmental planning.

LiDAR point cloud classification is the process of organizing millions of 3D points into meaningful categories such as ground, vegetation, buildings, and utility structures. By assigning class labels to each point based on its return characteristics and spatial context, we transform raw data into actionable information. This enables accurate terrain modeling, vegetation analysis, infrastructure mapping, and more — delivering clean, structured datasets ready for engineering, planning, and GIS workflows. It is a very powerful tool!
